Ending Female Genital Mutilation

We conduct workshops on women’s health, FGM, and welfare for communities that practice FGM in collaboration with a specialized FGM midwife. These programs are customized for the people we work with, making sure we offer an interpreter and a well-known, accessible location.

Therapeutic Support and Individual Counselling

Designed to meet the needs of the women themselves, we offer a private, secure, and judgment-free environment in which individuals can talk to professional counselors about their experiences, start to comprehend the consequences of female genital mutilation on their physical and mental health, and regain their emotional resilience.

Support &

 Advocacy

In order to ensure that women who receive the service are supported in attending the sessions and are directed to other organizations that may be necessary for their overall well-being, we offer extra support and advocacy.

Where Does FGM Happen?

A global human rights issue, Female Genital mutilation (FGM) affects children, women, and communities in more than 90 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.

How We Work for Women and Girls

We believe that eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls demands a strategy which responds to, and tackles the links between numerous forms of violence that African women and girls suffer.

Support services

For women and girls impacted by violence in whatever form, Nistawi Women offers guidance, one-on-one support, and referrals to additional resources. We offer guidance and assistance about FGM, domestic abuse, and other detrimental customs. We won’t judge you. We will give you the support you require and assist you in comprehending your possibilities.

Schools & Professionals

Through workshops and training, we assist educators and students in protecting girls who are at danger of female genital mutilation. Additionally, our professional development programs enhance the ability of educators and healthcare providers to better meet the specific needs of African women and girls.

Partnerships

We believe internal change is necessary for long-lasting transformation. Thus, top-down transformations are not what we do. At the local level, we collaborate with individuals and partners in the UK, using their perspectives and imparting our knowledge. in order for the transformation to continue after we are gone.

Community Engagement

Our efforts to assist African immigrant women and girls who have experienced or are at danger of Female Genital Mutilation and other gender-based violence persist. Our programs are developed to offer guidance and assistance from our team of professionals.

Ambassador Programme

Our Ambassador programme seeks to inspire a generation of the community to engage in the civil and political spheres and galvanise collective action against all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG). It aims to increase their visibility and capacity to shape decisions about their rights and freedoms.

Awareness Campaigns

We understand that collective action is the only way to bring about change. In order to enhance advocacy efforts and facilitate more fruitful interactions with legislators, our advocacy work primarily focuses on establishing connections, expanding networks, and creating venues for exchanging expertise with diaspora women's organizations.
